Deal with childhood anxiety before its too late

Some children seem to progress through life with relatively little tension, anxiety, and insecurity. Other children are easily fearful of new people, new situations, and new tasks.
These fears can show up in many ways, ranging from being a bit shy to being unable to do schoolwork; from being plagued by nightmares; to being unable to visit friends; from stuttering to violent stomach pains or headaches.
Whatever the symptoms, the anxious child finds life difficult, and his social and academic development usually suffers. One danger of not intercepting childhood anxieties at an early stage is the possibility of regressing back to these conflicts in later life in the form of full-blown phobias.
Help for childhood anxiety can be obtained through a number of therapeutic techniques.
The earlier the parents seek help, the easier it is to find the sources of the anxiety and make appropriate modifications. A qualified child/family therapist can help parents to decide on how best to help their child.
Dealing with social anxiety disorders and the varied symptoms can be extremely difficult and at times seem like it's impossible. And the ever increasing range of anxiety medications isn't really helping us to solve the problem - they're simply masking the symptoms.
