Can We Cure Anxiety Symptoms Without Medication

Having suffered with anxiety attack symptoms myself, and now being on the other side of the fence where I am fortunate enough to be able to help people who are going through similar experiences, I’ve come across a lot of different opinions and outlooks, with regards to peoples thoughts on finding a cure for their anxiety.

A lot of people are looking for that “magic pill” that will cure all their negative emotions – unfortunately such a pill doesn’t exist. Don’t get me wrong – there are a lot of remedies and medications out there that can and do alleviate the symptoms, but they don’t get to the root of the problem, so the anxiety never really goes away – it’s just masked for a while.

Can Medication or Therapy Really Cure Anxiety

But there are effective solutions if you’re willing to work at it. Anxiety in general is quite a complex condition – anything involving the mind is a complex issue. As such it can’t be “cured” by a pill or potion.

Counselling and therapy can help in alleviating anxiety symptoms, but it can take a long time, and cost a lot of money – in much the same way as medication can help. Over time it will help with the symptoms. But usually at considerable cost, and without actually curing the problem – only really addressing the symptoms.

If cost is not an issue, and you’re looking down the therapy route, one option you would do well to consider is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. You may find that your therapist will recommend some specific medication, which will be prescribed to work in conjunction with this type of therapy.

Is There a Fast Track – Low Cost Solution to Getting Rid of Anxiety

Well, the short answer is yes, there is. But it does take some “mental work” and requires you to practice this work every day. There are some very effective techniques you can learn that will help make your anxiety disappear in just 10 or 15 minutes – if you can practise these techniques every day, you can go a long way to fully eliminating anxiety and panic from your life completely.

Don’t take this as me saying that counselling and therapy don’t work – they all have their place – but they are rarely the cure-all for anxiety that people may make them out to be.

Counselling is great if it helps you address the root cause of your anxiety, and show you how to overcome it. However, the majority of the “work” is done by you. You’re simply paying to have someone show you how to do that work.

What Counsellors and Therapists Don’t Tell You

Counsellors and therapists are primarily in this line of work to make money – and secondly because they enjoy the work. People wouldn’t do this kind of work if they didn’t believe in it and enjoy helping people. But they still need to make money, so they are unlikely to tell you that there are methods and techniques you can use that can help you to cure your anxiety all by yourself.
